A vertically integrated agro-processing enterprise turning Nigeria's cassava and palm oil harvest into quality, affordable staple foods for West Africa.
Akasa Foods International Limited (AFIL) is a vertically integrated agro-processing enterprise headquartered in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria. Established to address the critical need for quality, affordable staple food products in West Africa, AFIL operates across the entire agricultural value chain — from commercial farming of cassava and palm oil through industrial-scale processing, quality-assured packaging, and distribution to domestic and international markets.
Strategically located in the heart of Nigeria's cassava-producing belt — the Niger Delta region — AFIL benefits from direct access to some of the country's most fertile agricultural land, a skilled local workforce, and proximity to key domestic and cross-border trade corridors. This geographic advantage, combined with the company's fully integrated operational model, enables AFIL to deliver premium-grade products at competitive prices while maintaining full traceability from farm to shelf.
The company's product portfolio has expanded from its foundational garri and cassava starch lines to include fufu flour, poundo yam flour, tapioca chips, pupuru powder, and palm oil — products that serve millions of households daily across Nigeria and the broader West African region, packaged in bulk formats up to 50kg for wholesale and industrial buyers, alongside retail-ready packs.
AFIL is more than an agro-processing company. Under the leadership of its founder, Dr. Maria Omorere-Adetula — a lawyer, psychologist, researcher, and entrepreneur — the company is driven by a deep commitment to community development and inclusive economic growth, creating employment for rural communities and supporting smallholder farmers through fair-pricing partnerships.
